So India has England on the mat. England seems to be developing a partnership between Owais Shah and Luke Wright, when Ramesh Powar comes on to bowl and has the ball take the back of Shah's bat, hit his elbow and balloon up to the keeper for a catch!
Horror of horrors!!!! The umpire turns it down!!!
This decision by an umpire who is making his debut in umpiring in ODI cricket! And then we have umpires by the dime and dozen who are willing to wrongly give the Indian batsmen out denying them match winning innings or a century!
And best of all, Shah has the audacity to indicate that his bat didn't make contact with the ball!!!
Needless to say, Shah goes on to register his century and propel England to a target of 316!
Damn! If wishes were hitmen, he'd be out in the other world by now! The umpire, that is to say.

hi nihal, the voracious reader has begun to pen rather key in. great! i worked in mumbai for twenty months and the city rocks...for me it did for sure and i exactly know when you say, go and return on the good old trains. i used to live and work in malad and nearly every weekend was spent in bandra or colaba. the city allows you to be invisible and anonymous, something goa does not (if you muse about goa, i will tell you how goa-sick i am. left for bahrain in april last year and have not gone back since. will go back with roshan sometime hopefully soon). and as luck would have it, i was in kerala during the big (first) deluge caused by the rains in 2005. anyways, catching up (and panting) is great! cheerio!!
